I’m sure hundreds of Chandler and Gilbert residents ask themselves these questions on a daily basis. And yes, there’s already several forums, pages, and sites that will give you reviews and recommendations on local establishments and activities, but trust me – A LOT of these reviews are misleading, uninformative, and just flat out wrong.
So why listen to this site? I am all about transparency, and I promise you that…
I will never recommend a place of business because I’m family or friends with the owner.
I will never accept money from a business in exchange for a positive review or recommendation.
Basically, I’m not here to receive kickbacks. You can guarantee that the words written on this site will be unbiased and fair.
About Me
I’m Chris – I didn’t always live in the Southeast Valley. In fact, I grew up in Southern California (yes, I’m another one of those Californians that ended up here in the Valley) but ended up marrying my wife Emily who grew up in the Valley. Right when the world shut down in 2020, we found out that we were expecting our first child. And let me tell you – the thought of raising a baby in a 700 square-foot apartment in downtown LA didn’t appeal to us.
So we made the move. After spending our first year in an apartment in Gilbert, we moved back to Emily’s old house in Chandler and have lived there ever since. Now that we have two kids, we’re constantly trying to think of activities and places to go for our little kiddos. And when we do have a night out for ourselves, we want to experience the best of what our local area has to offer. So why not share my experience and knowledge with you?
About the Rating System
Everyone rates things nowadays. While I do appreciate these ratings, I always wonder – is your 8/10 the same as my 8/10? If someone says this pizza joint is a 7.9, how good is that exactly?
So in order to make things clear, here’s the short and sweet explanation to the ratings you’ll see on this site:
9.0-10.0 – This is best in class. The crème de la crème. Traveling a long way and waiting for a long time would be worth it for any business in this range.
8.0-8.9 – Worth going repeatedly. These places should be in your regular rotation, one of your go-to spots.
7.0-7.9 – Worth going at least once. Maybe you’ll like it a lot more than I do, but it’s definitely worth trying yourself.
6.0-6.9 – Can’t confidently recommend, but it might have been an off day or I might not have ordered the right thing or chosen the best option to experience. These are places of business that I would consider trying again.
Anything below 6.0 – I would not recommend. My hope is that I’ll never rate anything in Chandler and Gilbert below a 6.0, and even though I’m all about support local businesses, let’s be real – some establishments need some serious wake up calls. Just keeping it real, here.
